Harderwijkerweg 85, 8071 EN Nunspeet
Ni Hao Chinese Cuisine stands on Harderwijkerweg in Nunspeet, where chef Jie Chen combines traditional Cantonese techniques with a contemporary approach. Shuping Chen-Wu leads the dining room and selects wines and teas to accompany the food. The result is a restaurant built around Chinese cooking, with particular attention to balance, preparation and the way dishes work together at the table. One way to eat here is through the Chistro selection of sharing dishes, ordered for the whole table. Plates are brought out as they are ready, allowing the meal to develop through a sequence of different flavours. Choices include steamed prawn dumplings, pork xiao long bao, chicken dumplings with a mild chilli topping and scallops with garlic, spring onion and aged soy sauce. Roasted duck is paired with cucumber, leek, hoisin sauce and pancakes. There are also plant based options, including a vegan combination of wok cooked vegetables and mushrooms, plus vegan versions of several other dishes. Guests wanting a planned sequence can choose a tasting menu, while a separate duck menu explores the bird through several preparations. Takeaway meals provide another option, with telephone orders requested and a selection that includes soups, spring rolls, vegetables, seafood and meat dishes. The restaurant has its own parking area with a charging point, a terrace seating twenty and a private dining room. Reservations can be arranged through the restaurant's contact and booking service.

Elspeterweg 14, 8071 PA Nunspeet
Mon–Sun 07:30–22:00
Brasserie 14 is the restaurant at De Hoeve van Nunspeet on Elspeterweg. It welcomes both people staying at the hotel and visitors coming specifically to eat, so an overnight stay is not required. The kitchen works with fresh ingredients and changes its dishes with the seasons. Coffee, lunch, wine and dinner are all part of the brasserie's offer, allowing a visit to be as simple as a drink or as substantial as a full meal. The lunch selection combines familiar Dutch dishes with salads and more substantial plates. Sandwiches come on white or brown bread, with fillings including beef carpaccio with basil pesto, rocket and Grana Padano, or smoked salmon with wasabi cream and pickled onion. There are toasted sandwiches, egg dishes and croquettes, alongside a goat cheese salad with honey and walnuts. For a larger lunch, the menu includes fish and chips with remoulade, chicken thigh satay and steak with herb butter. A vegetarian lunch board brings together soup, goat cheese, honey, a fried egg and an oyster mushroom croquette. These choices make the menu useful for a table where some people want a sandwich and others want a cooked plate. Reservations are encouraged. When booking, guests can give the number of diners and any dietary wishes, and an allergen menu is provided alongside the food menus. The hotel setting places the brasserie within a wider base for exploring the Veluwe.

Elspeterweg 6, 8071 PA Nunspeet
Restaurant Joris is a family restaurant on Elspeterweg in Nunspeet, close to the railway and bus station. The business has welcomed guests since 1979, and its approach centres on sociable meals, attentive service and a broad menu. Lunch, dinner and a smaller bite or drink are all part of the offer, making it a useful meeting place for people with different appetites. Its location also suits a meal before or after travelling by public transport. The station is about a hundred metres away, while the shops in the centre can be reached on foot. Walking and cycling routes run through the surrounding area, and the restaurant suggests using it as a starting point for an outing. Guests arriving by car have the restaurant's own free parking available. Electric bicycle charging points are provided for customers purchasing something at the restaurant. Families have a separate children's playroom, giving younger visitors a space of their own during a visit. The menu is divided into a main selection, lunches and desserts, so a visit can be planned around a full meal or something lighter. Guests with allergies are asked to tell the staff; the kitchen explicitly warns that cross contamination cannot be prevented. Tables are reserved by telephone or in person. The combination of transport links, parking and family facilities makes Joris a practical place to bring a mixed group together around a meal.

Harderwijkerweg 7, 8071 EM Nunspeet
Restaurant Jing brings Japanese sushi, Chinese dishes and Indonesian influences together at Harderwijkerweg in Nunspeet. The restaurant uses a small plate format, with guests choosing successive rounds from a wide selection rather than committing to one main course. Its dining arrangement includes a dessert buffet, and the portions are designed for trying different dishes throughout the meal. The sushi selection ranges from salmon, tuna and prawn nigiri to cucumber and avocado maki. Other rolls combine ingredients such as omelette and cheese, crispy chicken, or cucumber, tofu and avocado. There are also hand rolls and sashimi choices. Hot dishes give the meal another direction: the griddle selection includes salmon, lamb, pork, chicken and prawns, while the wok section offers beef with black bean sauce, chicken with sweet and sour sauce, and seasonal vegetables. Familiar dishes such as babi pangang and Peking duck sit alongside soups, salads and edamame. This breadth makes it possible to build a meal around sushi, cooked dishes or a mixture of both. Jing also prepares food to take away, from individual meals to complete rice table selections and separate sushi menus. Catering menus are available for gatherings at home or work. Reservations and orders can be made by telephone, and table requests can also be sent by email. Guests are asked to mention allergies, and payment can be made with cash or a debit card.

Dorpsstraat 43, 8071 BX Nunspeet
Mon 12:00–21:00; Tue–Sat 09:30–21:00; Sun Closed
Beregoed is a restaurant on Dorpsstraat in the centre of Nunspeet, combining lunch, dinner and drinks in a setting designed to feel like a living room. The current team took over in 2018 and gradually reshaped the business, renewing the interior and creating places to eat both inside and outside. There is also room for larger groups, giving it a role beyond a quick individual lunch. The kitchen puts fresh ingredients at the centre of its approach. Many products are collected each morning, and the bread comes from a local market baker. Meat is supplied by butcher R. van der Vlis in nearby Ermelo. Alongside the regular menu, the cooks prepare specials influenced by the season, the weather and their own ideas, so the selection has a changing element as well as familiar choices. The house's changing dinner special has included half a chicken with apple sauce, fries and salad, while the chef's soup selection has featured curry soup with warm bread rolls and butter. These are straightforward combinations that fit the restaurant's relaxed approach to eating. The menu and drinks selection support both a meal and a shorter stop in town. Guests can sit indoors or use the outside seating, and the central address makes the restaurant convenient to combine with a visit to the surrounding shops. Beregoed also has a menu arrangement for guests staying at B&B De Droomhoeve.
Irrhausen · German home cooking · Cakes and pastries · Lunch

Im Pfenn 3, 54689 Irrhausen
Im Pfenn takes its name from the old local word for the boggy, moorish ground the house stands on, a quiet spot outside Irrhausen in the German-Luxembourg nature park, a short way north of Arzfeld. Christine and Michel Munkler built the house with its barn and stable in 1938; the stable became a tavern in 1961, the barn a guest house, and in 1966 the 'Gasthaus Munkler' opened to the public. The second generation added the large dining room in 1978, and since 2001 Christiane and Oswald Urfels have run it, with son Markus Gutweiler as co-manager since 2021, which makes it a family business in its fourth generation with around forty staff. The main restaurant seats up to 80, a room under the roof takes 25, and a large sun terrace with about 40 seats looks out over the countryside. The kitchen's own phrase is Eifel tradition meeting modern regional cooking, built on fresh products from nearby. Two things are named as specialities: the filled cream puffs served in the afternoon, and from November onwards game dishes from the family's own hunting, which they process themselves. Weekday lunch is deliberately kept small. Birthdays, weddings, closed parties and company events are catered with menus, buffets or themed evenings. Outside there is a play and sports field for children, and the paths into the surrounding forests, meadows and streams start at the door, which is why the house welcomes families, groups, hikers, cyclists and motorcyclists alike and carries the 'Wanderbares Deutschland' hiking certificate.

Heilhauser Mühle 1, 54649 Manderscheid
The Heilhauser Mühle is a converted historic mill on the L12 between Lünebach and Waxweiler, down in the Prüm valley where the road runs between trees and water. The family has run it as a Landgasthof for more than thirty years and is now in its third generation; a small campground sits on the same grounds. Inside there are several distinct rooms: the snug Mühlenstube, a sunny winter garden, a fireplace room and a rustic barn whose glass floor looks straight down onto the old, illuminated mill wheel. Outside, a beer garden and a terrace face the mill pond, and the house recommends them as the stop after a walk. The cooking is regional country fare, running from schnitzel to rump steak, with game specialities, fish, vegetarian options and children's dishes, plus seasonal recommendations that change with what is available. Examples the house names are the 'Eifelliebe' salad with curry dressing, chicken and fresh fruit, the 'Mühlenknacker', a stuffed pancake filled with minced meat and cheese, and at weekends fresh salmon in wine sauce with rice and salad from the buffet. The mill lies directly on the Prümtal hiking trail, the Prümtal cycle path and the Panoramaweg 100, so hikers and cyclists arrive on foot or by bike and families come for a long Sunday lunch. Family celebrations, walking groups and company outings can book a set menu or a rustic buffet, and groups can be received outside the regular hours by arrangement. The house closes for a winter break each year and reopens in spring.
Krautscheid · German home cooking · Lunch · Dinner

Bitburger Straße 1, 54673 Krautscheid
The Islekhöhe stands on the high ground at Krautscheid, on the Bitburg road south of Arzfeld, in the stretch of the Eifel called the Islek where Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium run together. The family that runs it says it has been welcoming guests from near and far for two hundred years, and the house is still a family-run Pension with a regional restaurant attached rather than a hotel with a dining room. The kitchen's promise is put simply on the site: good home cooking, fresh Eifel products and generous portions, with a menu of local specialities and a sample card to download. Meals are served in a modern, comfortable dining room or, in fine weather, on the sunny terrace; in the evening there is a separate Bierstube with Bitburger Pils on tap, the sort of room where a walk is talked over rather than a wine list studied. The house has built its offer around active guests. Motorcyclists have three lockable garages with space for twenty to twenty-five machines and a bikers' weekend package; there is a tennis hall with a tennis weekend, hiking-and-bowling arrangements, and a newly installed charging point for electric vehicles. Guest rooms are kept simple and comfortable, with the clean Eifel air as the main amenity. For someone staying in a holiday home nearby it works as a proper dinner stop on weekday evenings and as a lunch place at the weekend, with the tri-border landscape starting right outside the door.

Bahnhofstraße 8, 54649 Waxweiler
The Hotel am Schwimmbad is a traditional guesthouse with a restaurant, a Pilsstube and a sun terrace, on the road that drops from the centre of Waxweiler down to the outdoor pool by the river Prüm. Run by Jeroen van der Zalm, it is open all year and takes its role as the village inn seriously: the restaurant serves Eifel regional specialities in a plain, welcoming setting and is set up for family celebrations, while the beer lounge opens late in the morning. The terrace is the reason to come on a fine day, with a wide view across the Prüm valley and down onto the swimming pool. Upstairs are seven guest rooms with television, shower and toilet, enough for a group of up to eighteen, and the rooms face the valley rather than the street. The list of guests the house names says a lot about who feels at home here: families, motorcyclists, who get a covered shelter for their bikes, walkers and cyclists on the Prümtal cycle path, who can lock their bicycles away, pilgrims on the Way of St James, who can have their pilgrim passport stamped, anglers, who can buy a permit for the Prüm, technicians and business travellers, and winter sports visitors. Dogs are accepted by request. There is generous parking, including space for large vehicles. The setting is the Deutsch-Luxemburgischer Naturpark, close to the point where Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg meet, and the pool next door makes it an easy afternoon for families with children before an early dinner.

La Corona is the Italian restaurant on the main street of Waxweiler, the small town in the Prüm valley a few minutes' drive east of Arzfeld. It opened on 15 November 2013 and has since marked its tenth anniversary, which the house mentions with some pride. The dining room is done in a modern style and the owners describe the place as family-friendly, with comfort and a warm welcome as the point rather than any show. The kitchen works with fresh, high-quality ingredients. A meal can start with an aperitif or a cocktail, Martini, gin and tonic or a Negroni, and the wine list is Italian, drawn from several regions. There are homemade soups and fresh salads, pizza bread straight from the oven, and pizzas with a crisp base and generous toppings. Pasta comes with sauces made in-house, and for those who want meat there are schnitzel and Cordon Bleu. Tables can be reserved through the website, which is worth doing for a group on a weekend evening. Music evenings are held from time to time. Beyond the restaurant the family runs a pizza food truck that brings the same oven-baked pizza to private parties and events in the region, with quotes on request. For a holiday-home guest it is the straightforward option for an evening out that does not involve a long drive: Italian food in the middle of the town, with a Sunday lunch service as well as evenings later in the week.

Hauptstraße 41, 54649 Lambertsberg
The Fünfmädelhaus in Lambertsberg has been in the same family for more than 150 years and is now run by the fifth generation, a Gasthaus with a Pension attached, standing high above the Prüm valley with forests and meadows all around. It is a big house for a village: 24 guest rooms with 52 beds, a restaurant with its own bar, a summer beer garden, two bowling lanes and a function hall that can seat up to about 140 people, which is why weddings, birthdays, family reunions, Christmas parties and club outings end up here. Motorcyclists get free covered parking and pets are welcome by arrangement, and the house lists walkers and cyclists exploring the Südeifel among its regular guests, with plenty for children in the area. The kitchen describes its line as regional classics and seasonal dishes prepared with care, and the menu shows what that means in practice: a cream of sweetcorn soup with black tiger prawns, smoked salmon tartare with avocado and burrata foam, a well-hung Angus rump steak with Café de Paris butter, and the 'Original Eifler Strohschwein', straw-reared pork from the region served Wiener Art or as Cordon Bleu with peas and carrots and potato gratin. There is homemade tagliatelle with burratine and tomato sauce for vegetarians, guinea fowl breast with truffled mushroom pasta, and sea bass in a spiced Asian broth. Desserts change daily, and the ice creams include homemade sorbets. Four-course festive menus and buffets are arranged for parties on request.

Berger Straße 1, 40213 Düsseldorf
Uerige combines a working house brewery with a collection of dining rooms on Berger Straße in Düsseldorf's old town. The beer is accompanied by traditional food, from freshly prepared meatballs and rolls topped with seasoned minced pork to crisp pork knuckles and the house version of currywurst. Seasonal hot dishes complement the regular selection, with kale and smoked sausage among the colder weather examples. Pea soup is another house specialty, while the broader selection includes lentil soup, potato soup, goulash and stuffed cabbage. The food gives a visit several possible scales, from a small bite alongside a glass of beer to a more substantial meal. The rooms are as much part of Uerige's character as the kitchen. Copper brewing kettles shape the atmosphere of the Brauhaus hall, while the Rittersaal pairs historic furnishings with beer mugs collected across three centuries. Its own counter, cloakroom and fireplace make it a distinct setting for a private gathering. The Hans Müller-Schlösser room remembers the Düsseldorf writer through bronze heads, colored glass, caricatures and old photographs. In the Handwerkerstube, carved guild symbols and local figures provide another connection to the city's past. Guests can also spend time outdoors rather than choosing an interior room. Tables and rooms can be requested for family occasions or business gatherings, and larger parties have separate menu and buffet options. Brewery tours introduce the ingredients and production process and can finish with a meal at a reserved table.

Ratinger Straße 28, 40213 Düsseldorf
Im Füchschen is a house brewery and restaurant on Ratinger Straße in Düsseldorf's old town. Brewing and eating belong together here: the kitchen works in the Rhineland tradition, with seasonal ingredients from the region and a substantial selection of familiar German dishes. Pork knuckle is a house specialty, accompanied by red cabbage or sauerkraut and a choice of potatoes or creamy mashed potatoes. Another plate serves the meat off the bone with Altbier sauce. Sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings, schnitzel with cranberries, and boiled beef with horseradish sauce show other sides of the same hearty cooking. Smaller appetites can turn to topped rolls, soups or cheese. The brewery's beer also finds its way into the food, including Mainzer cheese marinated in Füchschen Alt with onions and caraway. A shared brewery platter brings together several meats and traditional accompaniments for a group. Vegetarian and vegan dishes have their own section rather than appearing only as side orders, and there are smaller dishes for children. Breakfast is another part of the offer, with a brewery breakfast of meats, cheese and different breads, or fried eggs on bread with ham. The kitchen is led by Sabine Treckmann, while owner Peter König's background combines cooking and brewing. The brewery describes a longstanding connection between its building, its beer and the restaurant. Groups of eight or more can request a reservation by telephone or email; smaller parties are looked after on arrival.

Kaiserstraße 5, 40479 Düsseldorf
Rubens brings Austrian cooking to Kaiserstraße in Düsseldorf, with Cornelia and Ruben Baumgart as its hosts. Cornelia comes from southeastern Styria and has worked internationally in hotel management; Ruben combines northern German and Austrian roots with experience in Austrian restaurant kitchens. Together they approach the food of the Alpine republic through both tradition and contemporary cooking. Guests can choose individual dishes à la carte or follow a menu, giving the restaurant room for different ways of exploring its cuisine. The kitchen follows a nose to tail principle, making thoughtful use of ingredients a central part of its approach. Allergies and intolerances should be discussed when arranging a visit so the team can prepare appropriately. Beyond regular restaurant tables, Rubens has several distinct settings for private dining. The bright ground floor accommodates up to fifty five guests at several tables, with standing tables also possible for events. Downstairs, the Stubn offers a single table for nine in a setting with the character of a wine room. The Safe seats twelve around one table in a former vault, giving a smaller gathering a rather different backdrop. A small foyer connects the two downstairs rooms and can serve as the setting for an aperitif reception. The entire lower floor can also be hired exclusively. Weddings, company gatherings and personal celebrations can be arranged with the team, while catering extends from finger food receptions to meals with several courses. Reservations can be requested through the restaurant's booking link or by contacting the hosts directly.

Prinzeß-Luise-Straße 189, 45479 Mülheim an der Ruhr
La Cantina is an Italian restaurant on Prinzeß-Luise-Straße with an unusually broad pasta selection. Homemade linguine, tagliatelle, ravioli and cannelloni are prominent, alongside pizza, antipasti, fish and meat dishes. It is a useful choice when one person wants a simple Italian classic and another prefers a more elaborate combination without changing restaurants. The pasta menu ranges from linguine with garlic, chilli and olive oil to ravioli with goat's cheese and figs in sage butter. Seafood combinations, salmon-filled ravioli and spinach-and-ricotta cannelloni provide other directions. A separate special card brings additional ideas and seasonal ingredients, so check what is available when you arrive rather than relying on a particular special throughout the year. Pizza includes familiar Margherita and ham-and-mushroom options as well as combinations such as pear with Gorgonzola or prawns with rocket. Children have their own pizza, pasta and small schnitzel choices. Desserts include homemade tiramisu, panna cotta and zabaglione, allowing the meal to finish in a recognisably Italian style. Find La Cantina at 189 Prinzeß-Luise-Straße. The published timetable starts at 16:00 from Tuesday to Saturday, with lunch service from noon on Sundays and public holidays; Monday is closed. Telephone or email ahead for current availability and discuss allergies or ingredient questions directly with the restaurant before choosing from the larger menu.

Quellenstraße 20, 45481 Mülheim an der Ruhr
Trattoria Fati serves Italian food in a former mustard factory in Mülheim-Saarn. The old industrial building gives the restaurant a particular local setting, while its menu follows Italian classics and seasonal ingredients. In addition to the regular selection, special dishes are displayed on large slate boards, so it is worth looking at those before deciding what to order. Pizza is highlighted for the lunch period, and the restaurant also offers its food to take away. That makes the address useful for different sorts of day: a planned meal in the dining room, a lunchtime pizza stop or a collection order for a quieter evening elsewhere. Ask which dishes are being offered when you call, especially if you are interested in a seasonal recommendation from the boards. In warmer months, the garden terrace opens in good weather. Flowers and herbs are part of the outdoor setting, providing a different atmosphere from the rooms inside the old factory. If you prefer to eat outdoors, check that the terrace is operating on your chosen day instead of assuming that an indoor table booking guarantees a garden place. The postal address is 20 Quellenstraße, but the entrance to the restaurant's own car park is reached from Straßburger Allee. Service is split between lunch and evening from Tuesday to Friday, with Saturday opening later and Sunday running from noon. Telephone the restaurant directly to confirm your visit or takeaway collection.

Am Schloss Broich 38, 45479 Mülheim an der Ruhr
Ronja is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant inside Mülheim's Ringlokschuppen, close to Schloss Broich and the MüGa park. Its Mediterranean approach brings together vegetables, pulses, herbs and familiar comfort-food formats. The kitchen works with seasonal ingredients and local suppliers where possible, including vegetables from kleines Grün in Mülheim, and supplements its regular menu with changing weekly dishes. The selection goes well beyond a single meat-free alternative. You can start with hummus, couscous salad, aubergine and tomato sugo, or a mixed warm plate with falafel and stuffed vine leaves. Main dishes include vegetable curry, celery or soy schnitzel, plant-based burgers and several pizzas. Vegan adaptations are offered for suitable dishes, while gluten-free requests should be discussed with the kitchen rather than assumed possible for everything. There is an open indoor dining area and a large terrace looking towards the green surroundings of the Ringlokschuppen. Reservations are accepted for indoor tables only; the terrace operates with free choice of available seats. This is a useful distinction when planning an outdoor meal after a park visit or before an event nearby. Breakfast has its own morning timetable, followed by regular service from noon Tuesday to Sunday. Monday is closed. Ronja also offers collection and delivery. Find it at 38 Am Schloss Broich, and use the direct telephone or email for an indoor reservation or a dietary question.

Kämpchenstraße 59, 45468 Mülheim an der Ruhr
Amfipolis is an established Greek restaurant on Kämpchenstraße, with both indoor dining rooms and a terrace. Traditional Greek cooking and homemade preparations define the offer. It also accepts takeaway orders, so the same address can work for a sit-down evening or food to enjoy back at your accommodation. The starter selection is particularly varied. Alongside tzatziki, olives and taramas, the menu includes stuffed vine leaves, parsley salad with sheep's cheese, and salads made with calamari or octopus. A mixed Pikilia plate brings several of those flavours together. Warm choices include mushrooms filled with spinach and cheese, fried courgette and aubergine, and pastries with courgette and sheep's cheese. The restaurant publishes specific access information that can help with planning: a ramp is available at a separate entrance, there are wheelchair-suitable toilets, and reserved parking spaces sit immediately in front of the building. Mention your requirements when reserving so the team can explain the entrance and seating arrangements. Its function rooms can also be arranged for special occasions, including outside ordinary opening hours by agreement. The address is 59 Kämpchenstraße. Regular service begins at 17:00 Monday to Saturday, while Sundays and public holidays start at noon. Use the direct telephone or email to confirm your table, takeaway collection or group arrangements, and ask about current dishes if you have a particular Greek speciality in mind.

Franky's Wasserbahnhof Mintard combines a restaurant, served terrace and self-service beer garden directly beside the Ruhr. These are different ways to visit the same riverside address: choose an à la carte table for a full meal, or use the grill and container service for a more informal stop outdoors. A large riverside lawn adds space to the setting, and children have a pirate-ship play feature. The kitchen uses seasonal ingredients and works with selected regional suppliers. Its published menu moves between local dishes and broader influences, from Rhineland potato soup and schnitzel made with Ruhrtaler pork to trout, prawn pasta and curry. Vegetarian and vegan dishes have a clear place too, including filled cannelloni, a bowl with chickpea patties and a plant-based burger. The restaurant can be part of a cycling outing on the RuhrtalRadweg, while the Weiße Flotte provides a waterborne way to reach the area when services operate. Check boat schedules separately if that is part of your plan. For the dining experience itself, specify whether you want the served terrace or restaurant when making a reservation. The address is 129 August-Thyssen-Straße in Mintard. Opening begins at noon Wednesday to Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday closed. The kitchen normally closes at 21:00, or 20:00 on Sundays and public holidays. Reserve ahead for sunny weekends; the team takes enquiries by telephone, email and its online table system.
