Subida de la Concepción, 2, 38710 Breña Alta
Tue–Sat 13:00–23:00; Mon, Sun Closed
Casa Osmunda occupies a traditional house on the ascent towards La Concepción in Breña Alta. Before becoming a restaurant, the building served as a resting place for merchants travelling between Santa Cruz de La Palma and Los Llanos. Its name preserves the memory of Doña Osmunda, the woman who looked after the house. The restaurant opened in May 2007, retaining the hipped roof, porch and interior walls of volcanic stone. Two dining rooms and a terrace offer different settings, while a former water cistern with a vaulted ceiling provides a room for private celebrations. The cooking takes Canarian recipes as its starting point and adds contemporary combinations of ingredients. The menu moves from local cheeses and aubergine with cane syrup to rabbit in salmorejo tucked inside potatoes. Fish dishes include tuna with passion fruit, pumpkin and teriyaki, and the kitchen also offers fresh fish suggestions. Beef ribs, braised pork cheek and beef fillet give the meat section a substantial presence. Tropical fruit appears repeatedly, including in an avocado, prawn and mango preparation dressed with passion fruit. Desserts continue that interest in contrasting flavors, with cheese foam and passion fruit, warm cheesecake, and an avocado and fresh cheese cream with thyme oil and mango. A separate children's selection includes veal escalope and chicken with fries. The wine collection is another part of the house's identity, with staff available to suggest a bottle alongside the chosen dishes.

Carretera General Empalme Dos Pinos, 57, 38750 El Paso
Franchipani stands beside the main road between El Paso and Los Llanos de Aridane, near the Urbanización Celta bus stop. Heidy van de Vorst and Rüdiger Wastl opened the restaurant in December 1998, creating a place where Spanish and Mediterranean cooking meets influences gathered further afield. Heidy comes from near Eindhoven and developed her approach in the Netherlands before working with the flavors of Bonaire and Puerto Rico. An intensive cooking course in Thailand added another strand to her experience with spice and unfamiliar ingredients. She arrived on La Palma in the spring of the restaurant's opening year. Her cooking draws on fresh regional produce, including organic vegetables, with an emphasis on the origins of meat and fish. The restaurant presents both a regular menu and changing weekly dishes. Main courses can be ordered in smaller portions, giving guests flexibility in putting together a meal. Rüdiger leads the service and looks after the wines, selecting bottles from small producers and maintaining personal relationships with many of the winemakers. Family wineries on La Palma are central to the selection, joined by reds, whites and rosés from mainland Spain. Staff help guests choose an aperitif, a wine to accompany the food or a drink to finish. The house also invites diners to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine or beer. A private car park serves guests arriving by road, while the nearby bus stop provides another option for reaching this independently operated restaurant.

Villa Vladimir is a restaurant and coffee bar in Laz Bistrički, in the Marija Bistrica area, surrounded by woodland and greenery. Its founder, Vladimir Vedrina, developed his experience in restaurants in Italy and Istria before starting his own hospitality business in 1996. Work on the Villa Vladimir building began in 2006, and later extensions brought it to its present scale in 2018. The restaurant has three dining rooms, seating twenty five, forty and two hundred people, with rustic wooden interiors. Two terraces extend the seating outdoors. The kitchen draws on dishes from across Croatia. Cold starters include a sharing platter of cured meats and cheeses, while soups range from beef broth to vegetable cream soup and Zagorje soup. Main courses include pork schnitzels, pork medallions with mushroom sauce and a turkey fillet stuffed with fresh cheese, peppers and kulen. The grill selection includes ćevapi in lepinja and mixed platters intended for sharing. Steak choices include ribeye, beef fillet and tagliata, while the fish section offers squid, salmon and sea bass. For dessert there are cheese štrukli, pancakes and cakes. The different room sizes allow the restaurant to accommodate smaller occasions as well as larger celebrations. Its main function room can seat up to two hundred guests, with arrangements using round or straight tables. Rustic decoration, white chair covers and a professional lighting system form part of the setting for organised events.

Veliki Guber 1, 80101 Livno
Mon–Sun 09:00–22:00
Konoba Ivina Arka is a country tavern in Veliki Guber, on the western edge of the Livno field, about three kilometres from the town centre. It opens every day of the week from the morning until late evening, which makes it one of the easier places to plan around when arriving or leaving. The kitchen is rooted in the grill. The house platter brings together ćevapi, a pljeskavica, a chop, a chicken skewer, sausage and liver, and the grill section also lists veal and pork cutlets, mixed veal skewers, chicken wrapped in pancetta, a stuffed pljeskavica and one cooked in kajmak, the rich local clotted cream. Beyond the grill there are breaded and sauced cutlets, including a Livno style schnitzel, medallions, pork tenderloin stuffed with ham and cheese, and chicken in gorgonzola sauce. Traditional dishes include bean stew with sausage, fried dough balls with kajmak and veal cooked under the sač, the iron bell covered with embers, which is made to order. For fish there is grilled trout and grilled squid. A section of pizzas includes the house pizza with kulen, the spicy Slavonian sausage, and a vegetarian pizza with seasonal vegetables, alongside pasta, risotto, green noodles with seafood or gorgonzola, and a run of omelettes for the morning. The tavern also hosts events of its own; it has organised a Livno sausage contest, the Livanjska kobasijada, where anyone could bring sausages to be judged by a panel and the evening ends with dinner, a tasting of sausage and cheese and live tamburica music. Tables can be requested through the booking form on the website or by phone.

Suhača bb, 80101 Livno
The restaurant of Motel Vujeva stands beside the road from Livno towards Glamoč in Suhača, about five minutes by car from the town centre. The Vujeva family runs the whole site, which combines ten guest rooms, a cafe bar, a mini market and a petrol station, and the family says it has been in hospitality for more than twenty years. The kitchen cooks home style food. On weekdays it serves marenda, the hearty late morning meal that is a custom in this part of the country, until one o'clock, and the restaurant then stays open into the afternoon for guests and booked tables. It is open every day except Sunday. Much of the work here is celebrations. The main room takes larger groups for baptisms, first communions, confirmations, memorial gatherings and company receptions, with the menu, room and service arranged with the family beforehand. Inside the restaurant there is a separate tavern room for up to twenty people, used for birthdays, anniversaries and family lunches. Outside, a terrace hosts wedding parties who meet there to eat, listen to live music and spend time together before moving on, and wedding guests can stay in the motel rooms. The house asks guests to mention allergies or special diets when booking and adapts the menu. For regular tables, a call a day or two ahead is enough; for weekends and holidays it recommends booking well in advance. Parking next to the building is free, motorcycles can stand in a locked garage, Wi-Fi is free, and every service on the site, the restaurant included, can be paid by card. The family calls it the first logical overnight stop for motorcyclists riding the Dinaric routes from Split.

HVO br. 8, 80101 Livno
Restaurant Novitas is on the first floor of Hotel Novitas, a family owned hotel in Livno that opened on 3 June 2017 and stands a few minutes on foot from the main square. The restaurant is open to everyone, not only to people staying in the hotel. Caffe Baristo occupies the ground floor below it and a conference hall sits on the floor above. The room is bright and spacious, with a view over Livno and the surrounding country, and it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The house describes its cooking as domestic and international: local specialities given a modern finish and prepared from fresh, seasonal produce, with a wine list and a choice of local drinks to go with them. Cakes and desserts come from the hotel's own pastry kitchen and close out the meal. The kitchen adjusts dishes to dietary needs on request. The restaurant seats up to two hundred people, and the whole room can be booked for weddings, family celebrations and other occasions. For larger groups it offers a buffet or an à la carte menu by arrangement, and for business lunches and private parties a closed service with its own coordinated staff. The hotel itself has a private car park, an underground garage, a destination charging point for electric cars and free Wi-Fi throughout, and its reception is staffed around the clock. The same family also runs Odmorište Oltre, a pizzeria on the edge of town. To reserve a table, mark a special occasion or plan a private event, the hotel asks guests to get in touch in advance by phone or email so that the menu and the seating can be prepared.

Gabrijela Jurkića 13, 80101 Livno
Carnis sits on Gabrijela Jurkića in the centre of Livno, a few minutes on foot from the main street. It is the project of chef Tomislav Trboglav, who left Livno at twenty-five, cooked in Croatia and Germany, worked in steakhouse and fine dining kitchens in Zagreb, and then came home to open a place of his own together with his team. The house describes it as a story about returning home and about giving the town something bolder and more modern. The menu is built around meat, burgers and a smoker. Burgers come on brioche buns with beef, pulled pork or chicken, from a classic cheeseburger to a version with truffle mayonnaise and smash burgers pressed thin on the griddle, all served with fries. The corner the kitchen calls Smookey is given over to low and slow cooking: pork ribs, short ribs, lamb shanks and veal ribs spend hours over wood smoke at low temperature, an approach inspired by American barbecue but cooked with local produce. The chef names Livno cheese among the ingredients he is proud of, and it turns up on the fries. There are sandwiches on house focaccia, among them a Philly cheese steak and slow cooked beef with goat cheese sauce, plus salads on bulgur with salmon, prawns, chicken or a vegetarian mix with hummus croquettes and mushrooms. On weekday mornings there is breakfast with avocado toast, eggs Benedict, salmon toast and omelettes. The wine list leans on Croatian and Herzegovinian producers and the beer list includes the local Livno beer. Tables can be reserved by phone, and the same number takes delivery orders. The chef also cooks at private events through a chef experience service.

It has been serving pizza since 1985, and continuity is central to its identity: the house emphasises the recipe it has kept from the beginning of the business. The kitchen makes its pizzas in a bread oven and offers more than fifteen varieties, giving pizza a clear place at the centre of the visit. Dallas is suited to a straightforward meal with a friend or partner, with the focus on choosing a pizza and spending time together. Črečan 10A, 10380 Sveti Ivan Zelina
Burger Bar Dioniz is at Črečan 10A in the Sveti Ivan Zelina area. Its menu moves from familiar burgers to combinations built around smash beef, smoked cheese and sharper toppings. The house Dioniz burger pairs smash beef with cheddar, onion jam and pickled jalapeños. Smokey brings together smoked Gouda, smoked pancetta, pickled onion and a smoky sauce. A vegetarian burger uses a red bean patty with fried onion, tomato, lettuce and its own sauce. Beyond burgers, there are tortillas filled with grilled or breaded chicken, plus a Philly Chicken sandwich with Gouda and grilled vegetables. The Chevap sandwich comes in ciabatta with kajmak and urnebes spread. A chicken Caesar salad offers another format for a meal. Črn Bel 4, 42230 Ludbreg
Črn-Bel sits on a small hill in the Ludbreg wine country, in the village of Vinogradi Ludbreški just outside the town, with a wide view over Ludbreg and the surrounding villages that reaches into the neighbouring counties and even across the border. The place has a literary history. It once belonged to Mladen Kerstner, the Croatian writer and director known for Gruntovčani and Mejaši, who later left it to the shareholders of the old Hotel Putnik in Ludbreg; it was eventually privatised by Đuro Bohnec. The name is thought to come from Fran Galović's poem Črn-bel, written in June 1914 and published after his death in the collection Z mojih bregov. After a full renovation the restaurant reopened in January 2022 with a more modern look, while keeping the traditional spirit of an excursion spot in the vineyards. The menu runs along three lines: à la carte continental dishes, pizza from a bread oven, and grilled meat. The kitchen also lists game, river fish such as pikeperch and trout, squid and fish platters, steaks and barbecue, along with homemade vegetarian menus and options for vegans and small children. A daily set lunch, the local gablec, is part of the offer. Coffee and hot drinks are served from the morning, and the wine list leans on the Ludbreg wine district, with sparkling wine as well. The house aims to work with local food producers and family farms. Tables are booked by phone, celebrations for families and companies are organised on request, and the food can also be taken away or delivered. It suits a long lunch with a view after a walk through the vineyards.

Benediktinerstraße 6, 39104 Magdeburg
Elbelandhaus stands beside the Elbe in the Klosterbergegarten, with views towards Magdeburg Cathedral and the Sternbrücke. Both the dining room and the terrace look out towards the city skyline, so the river landscape forms a substantial part of a visit. The restaurant has welcomed guests since 2007 and combines a regular dining offer with private celebrations and special meal arrangements. The kitchen's range includes pasta, fish and game, with seasonal changes shaping the selection. German dishes sit alongside international influences, and the restaurant also announces vegetarian and vegan additions as part of its evolving menu. This breadth makes the house suitable for visitors who want a full meal while spending time along the river, as well as groups whose preferences differ. Desserts, ice cream dishes and cakes provide a separate reason to stop. The cake selection comes from the house baker, while the dessert offer extends beyond a simple final course to dedicated ice cream combinations. Guests can settle inside or use the outdoor setting when conditions allow. Elbelandhaus also arranges candlelit dinners, brunch and events tailored to an individual occasion. Weddings, significant birthdays and company celebrations can be organised around a buffet, a set menu or coffee and cake, with food and decoration planned together. Its reservation form accepts both table and event enquiries, and telephone contact is available for more immediate arrangements. Ulica Petra Zrinskog 9, 42230 Ludbreg
Hotel Crnković is a three star hotel on Ulica Petra Zrinskog in the centre of Ludbreg, the small Podravina town that calls itself the centre of the world. The hotel courtyard holds a terrace and a garden where guests can sit outside and relax in the warmer months. Trg Svetog Trojstva 27, 42230 Ludbreg
Mon–Sat 10:00–22:00; Sun 11:00–22:00
Pivnica Mejaši is the beer hall attached to Hotel Amalia on Trg Svetog Trojstva, the main square of Ludbreg, right beside the parish church. The interior is fitted out entirely in a rustic style meant to recall the old Zagorje countryside, with about sixty seats inside, and in summer two large terraces, one at the front and one behind, take around a hundred guests. Two things anchor the menu: pizza from a bread oven and meat grilled over charcoal following the Leskovac tradition. The pizzas carry local names such as the house Mejaši with garlic sausage, bacon, ajvar, fresh pepper and egg, the Podravska with dried pork neck, the Slavonska with kulen, and the Pivnička with corn and kulen, and most also come in a jumbo size. From the grill there are ćevapčići served plain, in flatbread or with kajmak, cheese stuffed pljeskavica and vješalica, and sharing platters for three or five people. Squid comes breaded, fried, grilled or stuffed with prosciutto and cheese. The house speciality is venison goulash with hunter's dumplings, and there are schnitzels, pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce, a cold platter of prosciutto, kulen and cheese with bread from the oven, and pancakes for dessert. A set lunch, the local gablec, is also on offer. Tables can be reserved online, birthdays and smaller celebrations can book the room, and the kitchen prepares family and party menus to order a day or two ahead. Everything can be ordered online for pickup or delivery, and both cash and cards are accepted. It is the easy evening option in the centre of town, a few steps from the square.

Danzstraße 13, 39104 Magdeburg
Dom-König stands on Danzstraße beside Magdeburg's cathedral district, close to the Elbe. Its identity brings together a restaurant and a substantial beer selection, with more than a dozen varieties presented by the house. The setting makes it a convenient place to combine a meal with exploring the area around the cathedral. A separate lunch menu complements the main selection, and tables can be reserved. The food moves between familiar hearty dishes and lighter starters. Tomato soup comes with crème fraîche and croutons, while the pumpkin soup combines Hokkaido pumpkin with ginger, coconut milk and chilli. Bruschetta uses toasted ciabatta, tomatoes, garlic, pesto and Grana Padano. Caramelised goat cheese is paired with a plum and orange chutney and mixed leaves. Flammkuchen offers another smaller option, with either a tomato, feta and olive topping or red onions and ham. For a substantial main course, the menu includes beef cheeks braised in dark beer sauce with mashed potatoes and root vegetables. Salmon arrives with rösti, creamed savoy cabbage and pomegranate. Roast beef Stroganoff and a mushroom version share accompaniments of hazelnut spätzle, gherkins and red onions. There are also vegetable filled Maultaschen and chicken pasta. Families have a dedicated children's section, including fish fingers, pasta and a small pork schnitzel, and can ask for a drawing box. Warm apple strudel with vanilla ice cream rounds out the meal. Together, the menu and beer selection give the restaurant an approachable focus for an unhurried stop in central Magdeburg.

Fürstenwall 3b, 39104 Magdeburg
Hoflieferant occupies a garden setting below Magdeburg Cathedral, between the old town and the Elbe. Its summer terrace sits beneath mature trees at the Fürstenwall, giving the restaurant a setting closely tied to this historic corner of the city. The kitchen combines German cooking with international influences and builds its changing menu around seasonal produce from regional suppliers. Older vegetable varieties and less familiar cuts of meat are part of that approach, alongside dishes for guests who eat vegan food. The autumn menu illustrates the range particularly clearly. Roasted pumpkin is paired with goat cheese from Glinde, capers and hazelnuts, while baked Jerusalem artichoke comes with smoky barbecue aioli and savoy cabbage salad. A pumpkin soup uses pumpkin kimchi for another layer of flavour. Among the main courses are homemade chard dumplings with goat cheese, beetroot cream, Brussels sprouts and apple, as well as blue potatoes with fermented autumn vegetables. Fish, chicken and wild boar provide alternatives to the vegetable dishes. Desserts continue the seasonal theme with warm plum cake and spiced crumble, or a vegan carrot ice cream served with walnut liqueur and an almond cake. There is also a separate selection for children. The restaurant hosts weddings, birthdays, family gatherings and company celebrations, and takes table reservations. For travellers exploring the cathedral district, it offers a meal rooted in the surrounding region, with enough variation across the menu to suit a group with different preferences.

Café Alt Magdeburg sits in the Green Citadel on Breiter Weg, combining a setting in one of Magdeburg's distinctive buildings with an interior inspired by the older city. Homemade cakes and tray bakes are central to its offer, alongside breakfast, savoury dishes and ice cream desserts. Breakfast ranges from a croissant and bread roll with butter, honey, regional jam and fruit to scrambled eggs with herbs and tomatoes or bacon and leek. The Otto und Editha breakfast is designed for two, bringing together bread rolls, cold cuts, cheese, smoked salmon, horseradish, jam and fruit. A vegetarian version of the Klosterfrühstück is also listed, and a muesli breakfast offers another starting point. Savoury choices include soljanka, potato soup, mixed salads and omelettes with vegetables or goat cheese. Waffles take a different direction with toppings such as smoked salmon or savoury meat ragout. Baked potatoes come with chicken, salmon or soused herring, while the sweet side includes waffles dusted with icing sugar. The ice cream selection ranges from raspberry sorbet with berries to combinations of chocolate, vanilla, cherries and cream. Alt Prester 86, 39114 Magdeburg
Restaurant Die Kirche occupies a former church in Magdeburg's Prester district. The building dates from 1832, when it replaced an older medieval church, and its tower was modelled on those of Magdeburg Cathedral. Its later history is unusually varied: religious use ended in 1983, the building served as a church district works depot, and a conversion in 1997 brought architecture, art and gastronomy together. Katrin and Jens Rieffenberg have run the restaurant since 2007. The dining offer combines seasonal cooking, creative dishes and familiar classics. The house presents a selection spanning starters, meat, pasta and vegetarian dishes, alongside a separate children's menu. For a more structured occasion, it offers menus and candlelit dinners. The former church interior gives these meals a setting with a history that remains part of the restaurant's character. Brunch is another part of the programme, offered on selected Sundays. It brings together a breakfast buffet of homemade specialities, warm dishes, desserts and coffee served in pots. The garden and terrace provide outdoor space, although brunch reservations do not extend to those areas. Private celebrations are a substantial part of the restaurant's work. Weddings, drinks receptions, birthdays, club outings, family occasions and company events can be arranged with the team. There are also themed evenings and murder mystery dinners. Table requests can be made through the reservation form, with telephone contact available for shorter notice arrangements. Restaurant Panorama occupies the lakeside hotel of the same name on the outskirts of Prelog, within the DG Sport recreation complex. The dining room has eighty seats and looks towards the reservoir locally described as the Međimurje sea. Its kitchen combines regional specialties with international dishes, giving visitors a choice between exploring local cooking and ordering something familiar. The regional cold platter brings together beef tongue, meat from tiblica, homemade sausage, cheese and chopped lard. Other starters include cottage cheese with sour cream, smoked salmon and a squid salad. Warm dishes include cornmeal žganci, cheese štrukli and a Međimurje risotto with meat, white wine and bacon. There are vegetable choices too, including a warm and cold salad with grilled vegetables and mushrooms, and grilled pumpkin with feta. Meat dishes range from veal in mushroom sauce to chicken stuffed with gorgonzola, while larger platters combine several preparations for sharing. A separate pizzeria prepares more than twenty varieties in a wood fired oven. The breakfast selection includes eggs, cold cuts, spreads, pastries, fruit and yogurt. Beyond the main dining room, the hotel has a ground floor coffee bar and a wine bar with local bottles and small bites. During summer, a large terrace provides outdoor seating beside the lake, with parasols offering shade. The combination of regional dishes, pizza and several spaces for drinks makes Panorama a flexible stop during a visit to Prelog and its lakeside recreation area.

Via Ospedale 64, 73024 Maglie
Malliè combines a restaurant and pizzeria on Via Ospedale in Maglie. Its kitchen gives equal space to dishes from the sea and the land, while the pizza section offers several kinds of dough. That combination gives a table room to choose between a complete restaurant meal and pizza without committing everyone to the same style of food. Ingredient selection is central to the approach, bringing together Italian products and selected ingredients from further afield. The menu follows the familiar progression of an Italian meal, with separate seafood and meat starters, first courses and main courses. Alongside those sections are substantial salads, small bites and desserts. Pizza has its own broad selection, divided into classics, enduring favorites, special combinations and the pizza maker's recommendations. Filled pizzas and an alternative dough section add further choices. Drinks include bottled and draft beer, red, white and rosé wines, sparkling wines and spirits. The premises accommodate approximately one hundred guests across a spacious indoor room and an outdoor area. Both spaces form part of the restaurant's offer for events, making Malliè an option for a celebration as well as an ordinary meal in town. The team includes pizza maker Paolo Scarlino and chefs Maurizio Civilla and Gianluca Accogli. With a dedicated pizza maker alongside the restaurant chefs, the two sides of the menu are distinct parts of the same establishment. Guests can contact the restaurant directly by telephone or email.

Via Roma 86, 73024 Maglie
Ristorante Belamì occupies a historic building on Via Roma, within a property that brings together a restaurant, hotel, bar and wine cellar. Contemporary furnishings give the old building a modern character. The restaurant offers an à la carte menu spanning seafood and meat, with a particularly extensive selection of raw fish and shellfish. A five course tasting menu, including dessert, provides another way to explore the kitchen when the whole table chooses the same approach. Raw preparations include yellowfin tuna tartare with samphire, parsley sauce and anchovy, and amberjack carpaccio with sweet and sour red onion and Dijon mustard. Cooked starters range from salt cod in tempura to glazed octopus with soy and a rosemary flavored broad bean cream. Cured meat with burrata and a Fassona beef preparation give alternatives beyond seafood. Pasta and rice continue that balance. There are linguine with sea urchin, citrus risotto with red prawn ragù, and mezzi paccheri with Chianina beef ragù and aged Grana Padano fondue. Main courses include roasted sea bass, seared tuna, mixed fried seafood, beef fillet and grilled beef rib. The fish selection also includes the day's catch. Desserts bring together vanilla ice cream, homemade tarts, fruit and lemon sorbet. Elsewhere in the property, the wine cellar pairs its selection with cheese boards. Belamì also offers meals as gifts, with the possibility of combining the restaurant experience with a stay in its guest rooms.

Via Giuseppe Garibaldi 12, 73024 Maglie
Amélie Restaurant brings Italian cooking and a strong interest in wine together on Via Giuseppe Garibaldi in Maglie. Its kitchen combines familiar recipes with contemporary preparation, working with local suppliers and fishing boats. Fish from Gallipoli is a particular focus, connecting the restaurant's inland setting with the fishing communities of the Salento coast. Vegetables and seafood form part of an ingredient led approach rather than a menu confined to one kind of dish. The starters range from burrata with rocket, lime and prawn tartare to an artichoke flan with Parmesan cream and balsamic reduction. Octopus with potatoes appears as pignata, while cuttlefish is paired with artichokes. A raw seafood selection brings together prawns, langoustines and oysters, with tartare made from tuna or the day's catch offering another option. Pasta includes linguine with clams, langoustines, prawns, squid and cherry tomatoes, as well as orecchiette with turnip greens and stracciatella. Other choices extend to game ragù and seafood soup with pasta for two. Main courses include fish in a broth with capers, olives, potatoes and tomatoes, grilled squid, beef fillet and sliced beef with garlic butter. The wine selection reaches beyond regional Italian labels to bottles from other countries, and sommeliers can help choose a pairing. Desserts include crema catalana, dark chocolate soufflé and lemon sorbet. Tables can be requested directly, making it possible to discuss the meal with the restaurant before visiting.
