Rates checked in September 2026. Under its single-fee structure, Airbnb charges most hosts 15.5%; Airbnb says other hosts typically pay between 14% and 16%. Exceptions depend on country and account type. Booking.com sets the commission rate in each accommodation agreement, and visibility programmes may increase it. This worked example uses a possible range of 15% to 25%. If Booking.com facilitates payment, the applicable payment terms and transaction cost are contract-specific. Our 3.9% cost contribution is included in the displayed total and contributes towards Stripe payment fees and refunds. BookNoFees earns nothing from it. Nothing is added at checkout and nothing is deducted from the owner. Fee models can change, so please check each platform’s current terms. About Lefkada

Staying in Lefkada

Lefkada is the Ionian anomaly: an island you reach by car, linked to the Greek mainland by a causeway and floating bridge near Lefkada town. That easy access hides some of the most photographed coastline in Greece. The west coast is the star, a run of chalk-white cliffs plunging to impossibly blue water at Porto Katsiki, Egremni and Kathisma, beaches that regularly top lists of Europe's finest. Round on the sheltered east side the mood softens: Nydri sits among green hillsides and looks out over a scatter of little islands, with boat trips to Meganisi and the waterfalls just inland. In the south, Vasiliki's afternoon winds have made it a long-standing windsurfing and sailing base, while on the northwest coast the whitewashed village of Agios Nikitas keeps a laid-back, low-rise feel. Lefkada town itself, rebuilt in an earthquake-wary style of timber and metal, wraps a lagoon famous for its salt pans and birdlife. Compact enough to explore in a week, varied enough to keep surprising you.

Good to know

Holiday homes in Lefkada — FAQ

How do I get to Lefkada?

Unusually for a Greek island, you can drive straight onto Lefkada across a causeway and floating bridge, so no island ferry is needed. The nearest airport is Aktion (Preveza) on the mainland, a short drive to the north. That makes Lefkada one of the easiest Ionian islands to reach with a hire car, and simple to combine with a mainland road trip.

Which are the best beaches?

The west coast holds the famous ones: Porto Katsiki and Egremni beneath tall white cliffs, and the long sweep of Kathisma. They face the open sea and can be breezier, with steep access at some. For calmer, shallower water head to the sheltered east and south around Nydri and Vasiliki. Conditions vary by wind, so ask your host what suits the day.

Is Lefkada good for windsurfing?

Yes. The bay at Vasiliki in the south is a well-established windsurfing and sailing spot, thanks to a dependable afternoon thermal wind that builds through the day. There are schools and rental centres for beginners and improvers alike. Even if you do not sail, it is a lively, relaxed base with a pretty waterfront and good tavernas.

What else is there to do beyond the beaches?

Take a boat trip from Nydri out to Meganisi and the smaller islets, walk to the inland waterfalls, or drive up to the mountain villages like Karya for cooler air and a slower pace. Lefkada town's lagoon is good for birdwatching, and Cape Lefkatas at the southern tip offers dramatic clifftop views over the sea.

How does booking direct on BookNoFees work?

You can message the host before booking. For a booking request, Stripe first places a card hold for the full amount; the host has 48 hours to accept, and only then is the amount captured. Instant Book is charged immediately after Stripe confirms payment. Do not transfer the booking amount directly to the host. The displayed total already includes the 3.9% cost contribution for Stripe payment fees and refunds.

Why does zero commission matter?

BookNoFees deducts no commission from the amount set by the host. The displayed total includes a 3.9% cost contribution for Stripe payment fees and refunds, and BookNoFees earns nothing from it. Nothing is added at checkout.
