Pizzeria Grimani

Pizzeria Grimani stands at Svetvinčenat 71, near the town's central square and Morosini-Grimani Castle. Its menu centres on pizza, with both smaller and regular sizes and a broad choice of toppings. The house Grimani starts with tomato, cheese and oregano, then lets guests choose the remaining ingredients. This gives it a different role from the fixed combinations elsewhere on the menu: it is a starting point for building a pizza to suit an individual appetite. Regional ingredients appear in the Domaća, which combines sausage and ombolo with olives, and the Istriana with prosciutto and olives. Napoletana uses salted sardines and capers, while the tuna version pairs tuna with olives. Mushroom pizza, a four cheese option and Vegetariana with mushrooms, artichokes, corn and peppers give several alternatives to the meat toppings. There is also a rocket pizza with cherry tomatoes and Grana Padano, and a cream based Bianca with cheeses and cherry tomatoes. Those looking for a stronger flavor can choose Diavolo with hot peppers, kulen, Tabasco and olives. The menu offers a gluten free pizza base, hemp dough and filled crust as additional choices. For something sweet, it also lists pizza dough with Nutella. The location allows a pizza stop to be combined with a walk around Svetvinčenat's compact centre. Visitors interested in the castle can plan both around the same square, with the pizzeria providing a straightforward meal focused on choosing a size, base and combination of toppings.
