La Parisienne Brusubi

La Parisienne is the Gambian bakery-café that has been baking in the French way since 1993, and this is its Bijilo branch at the Brusubi turntable, a few minutes from the Senegambia strip and the Bijilo beach hotels. The counter holds croissants, pains au chocolat, tarts and celebration cakes; the kitchen behind it serves breakfast, sandwiches, shawarma, pizzas and a menu of everyday meals through the day, with proper coffee and fresh juices.

The room is fully air-conditioned, which on a hot afternoon is half the point, and there are tables outside for the cooler hours. It opens in the morning and stays open late, so it works as much for a first coffee as for a late dessert after a beach day.
