Andechser in Mering stands on the historic market square, where the Baumüller family runs a Bavarian inn with several distinct rooms and a terrace for the warmer months. Christian Baumüller is both landlord and head chef. His cooking draws on traditional recipes while making room for contemporary interpretations and lighter dishes in a bistro style. Fresh ingredients are central to the kitchen, with regional produce preferred wherever possible. His membership in the association of speciality innkeepers in the Wittelsbacher Land reflects that connection to the surrounding agricultural area. Beer comes from the monastery brewery at Andechs, and the house also serves spirits from the monastery hill. The setting offers several ways to spend a meal, from a small gathering in a traditional room to a larger celebration upstairs. The Marktstube seats thirty-five people, the Wirtsstube twenty-five, and the gallery can accommodate up to one hundred. Outside, the beer garden terrace gives guests a place to sit in summer. Family occasions are an established part of the business, including baptisms, first communions, weddings and milestone birthdays. The team helps arrange individual menus, matching wines, printed menu cards and coordinated table decorations.
