Dietro L'Angolo Trattoria Pizzeria

Dietro L'Angolo is a family-run trattoria and pizzeria on Via Giacomo Matteotti in Dervio. Leonardo and Barbara combine the dishes of Lombardy with a broad pizza, grill and seafood menu, making it a practical local choice for couples, families or friends with different appetites. The restaurant has an indoor dining room, terrace and bar, with the wood-fired oven forming an important part of evening service.

For a regional meal, start with sciatt, the crisp buckwheat fritters filled with Casera cheese, or a board of cured meats and cheeses. Pizzoccheri come with potatoes, seasonal greens, cheese, butter and sage and are ordered for at least two people. Other first courses include saffron-and-sausage risotto, beef-ragù tagliatelle and linguine with clams.

The pizza selection ranges from Margherita and Napoli to the house version with sausage, Gorgonzola and onion. Vegetarian toppings, calzoni and richer combinations with porcini or speck widen the choice. Away from pizza, there are sliced grilled beef, burgers, a breaded pork cutlet and mixed fried seafood. Homemade panna cotta, tiramisù and crema catalana offer a familiar finish.

A set lunch is available from Monday to Saturday, while groups of at least four can ask about the evening Giro Pizza format. Lunch is served daily, with Tuesday evening the regular closure. Reserve by phone, especially for a group, and discuss dietary requirements directly: although alternative pizza bases are offered, the restaurant explicitly notes that preparation takes place in a shared kitchen.
