Piazzetta Milù

Piazzetta Milù is the Izzo family's restaurant on Corso Alcide De Gasperi in Castellammare di Stabia. Michele and Lucia began the business as a pizzeria in 2003, and their sons have since developed it into a restaurant built around exploration and a single surprise tasting menu. Maicol leads the kitchen, Valerio manages the dining room, and Emanuele looks after the cellar. Their different responsibilities shape an experience that moves through several spaces within the restaurant. The kitchen is fully visible, while the old cellar occupies the foundations of the building and holds wines gathered from around the world. A small organic plot in Schito supplies vegetables, aromatic herbs, fruit and eggs. The menu, called Evoluzione, changes six times a year, drawing on the season and the family's travels and experiences. Neither the dishes nor the number of courses is announced beforehand, so the meal is intended to unfold through discovery. An optional drinks pairing extends beyond wine to include combinations drawn from Champagne, cocktails, beer, tea, sake, spirits and drinks made in house. Guests are asked to communicate food dislikes, intolerances and allergies when reserving. The restaurant cannot provide menus for guests who cannot consume gluten or lactose, and some menus are unsuitable for vegetarian or vegan diets. Reservations can be made online or by telephone, with separate email enquiries for larger tables and private events.
