Restaurant Staldbach

Staldbach stands on Talstrasse in Visp and combines a restaurant with spaces for family meals, celebrations and larger gatherings. Several smaller dining rooms provide places to sit together, while larger, divisible rooms accommodate weddings and other events. A sheltered terrace offers an outdoor alternative, and the grounds include a large playground and a velodrome for children. Parking is available beside the restaurant. The kitchen works with seasonal dishes and regional ingredients, alongside a menu that travels beyond Valais. A local sharing platter brings together dried meat, ham, sausage and mountain cheese. The house cordon bleu uses Swiss veal filled with Valais mountain cheese and ham, accompanied by fries and vegetables. Fish choices include Swiss char with beurre blanc, pike perch with saffron sauce, and perch from Raron prepared with almonds. Vegetarian dishes have their own place on the menu: homemade ricotta and spinach ravioli with sage butter, mushroom risotto, and a burger with a plant based patty and raclette cheese. Rice bowls combine vegetables, mango and teriyaki sauce, with several different toppings available. The address also has a longer history in local hospitality. A small restaurant with a boccia court operated here in the 1950s, followed by a much larger leisure and hospitality complex in the following decade. That earlier establishment eventually closed and was demolished. Today's restaurant continues the Staldbach name in a newer setting, with separate spaces that suit both an ordinary meal and an occasion shared with a larger party.
