Bitburger Straße 1, 54673 Krautscheid
The Islekhöhe stands on the high ground at Krautscheid, on the Bitburg road south of Arzfeld, in the stretch of the Eifel called the Islek where Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium run together. The family that runs it says it has been welcoming guests from near and far for two hundred years, and the house is still a family-run Pension with a regional restaurant attached rather than a hotel with a dining room. The kitchen's promise is put simply on the site: good home cooking, fresh Eifel products and generous portions, with a menu of local specialities and a sample card to download. Meals are served in a modern, comfortable dining room or, in fine weather, on the sunny terrace; in the evening there is a separate Bierstube with Bitburger Pils on tap, the sort of room where a walk is talked over rather than a wine list studied. The house has built its offer around active guests. Motorcyclists have three lockable garages with space for twenty to twenty-five machines and a bikers' weekend package; there is a tennis hall with a tennis weekend, hiking-and-bowling arrangements, and a newly installed charging point for electric vehicles. Guest rooms are kept simple and comfortable, with the clean Eifel air as the main amenity. For someone staying in a holiday home nearby it works as a proper dinner stop on weekday evenings and as a lunch place at the weekend, with the tri-border landscape starting right outside the door.

B114-115, Lake Level, Platinum Tower, Cluster I, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai
Mon–Sun 11:00–23:00
Jasmint is a modern Chinese bistro at lake level in Platinum Tower, within Cluster I of Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Its cooking looks particularly towards Sichuan and Yunnan, while also drawing on the regional traditions of Hunan and Guizhou. Together, these influences give the restaurant a more specific geographical identity than a general introduction to Chinese food might suggest. The kitchen connects those traditions with a contemporary approach to Asian dining. Ingredients and seasonings sourced from their regions of origin are central to that connection, keeping the food tied to the places that inspire it. The restaurant’s Chinese name, displayed alongside Jasmint, accompanies an identity built around the food of mountains and agricultural landscapes. This regional emphasis makes it a place to explore different parts of Chinese cooking within one meal. The atmosphere is intended to be relaxed and social. A visit can be a straightforward meal alone, a meeting with colleagues or a gathering around shared dishes. The same space also welcomes family meals, birthdays and festive occasions, giving it a role beyond an everyday neighbourhood stop. Rather than requiring every visit to follow a formal sequence, the restaurant accommodates different appetites and sizes of gathering. That flexibility suits both a small table and a group wanting to make the meal the main occasion. Reservations can be arranged through the restaurant’s booking facility, where guests select their party size, date and preferred time. Telephone and email contact are also available directly from the restaurant.

Dr.-Julius-Leber-Str. 69, 23552 Lübeck
Johanna Berger's restaurant occupies an old town address on Dr.-Julius-Leber-Straße, with dining rooms inside the historic building and seating in a quiet courtyard. Berger is both the owner and a chef, and her cooking draws on experience gained in southern France, London, the North Sea region and Lübeck. She has been serving food in her namesake restaurant since 2015. Jamel Jerome Poerschke joined the kitchen in May 2024, bringing a particular interest in reinterpreting familiar regional cooking. Their shared approach gives guests a choice between an à la carte meal and a surprise menu shaped by the two cooks' different backgrounds. Seasonal ingredients and preparations made in the kitchen guide the selection. The à la carte offering includes tomatoes with burrata and olive oil, beef carpaccio with truffle mayonnaise and caviar, and ceviche with pickled onion and sesame. Vegetarian main courses include saffron risotto with fennel and roasted pepper, alongside a vegetable dish called Waldspaziergang, served with mushroom jus. Fish appears both as a changing catch and as pikeperch accompanied by saffron risotto and fennel. Meat choices include a changing cut and beef tenderloin with popcorn and jus. Dessert can be followed or replaced by a trio of cheeses with jelly and dark bread. The menu varies with what suppliers can provide, so individual dishes may change. Wine pairings accompany the surprise menus, while the drinks selection also includes a house cocktail. Tables can be reserved online, by phone or by email. The team also welcomes enquiries about private events, rooms and specially arranged menus.

Nova Levante · Dinner · Takes reservations
Via San Valentino 5, 39056 Nova Levante
Johannesstube is the gourmet restaurant associated with Hotel Engel in Nova Levante, where chef Philip Lochmann builds his cooking around the ingredients and landscape of South Tyrol. The emphasis falls on clarity, careful preparation and the individual flavor of each element. Alpine produce provides the starting point, while experience beyond the region informs the combinations and techniques. This is a place for a considered meal, with the progression of dishes carrying as much importance as any single ingredient. The restaurant expresses that approach through Moments of Lightness, a sequence whose names evoke earth, rain, woodland and the changing sensations of the natural world. The language reflects a kitchen interested in atmosphere and memory as well as taste. Lochmann's work connects contemporary ideas with regional products, using precise combinations of texture and aroma to keep the cooking focused. The wider Engel kitchen works with producers in the Eggental valley through the Taste Local initiative. Vegetables, herbs, fruit and eggs come from farms in the region, reinforcing the connection between the surrounding countryside and the plate. Within that setting, Johannesstube gives the house's culinary philosophy a particularly concentrated expression. Guests interested in modern Alpine cooking will find an experience organized around ingredients and a coherent sequence rather than a broad menu of unrelated classics. Table reservations are requested, and the restaurant provides a direct telephone contact and booking route for arranging a visit.

Bodenwerder · Cakes and pastries · Cafe · Seating indoors
Buchhagen 4, 37619 Bodenwerder
KaffeeMühle is the café within KulturMühle Buchhagen, a restored sandstone mill in the countryside near Bodenwerder. It belongs to the cultural center run by Kaleidoskop e.V., where food, local participation and the life of the old building come together. A volunteer café team has operated the Mühlen-Café since the beginning of 2018, with service and cake baking supported by people who contribute their time and ideas. The offer centers on homemade cakes and drinks, including coffee, making the café a natural stopping point for a quiet break in Buchhagen. It is also a social space: the organizers encourage people to meet, take part and develop activities around the café. A handicraft gathering is among the recurring formats associated with it. The wider KulturMühle program includes concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events, giving the building a purpose beyond a conventional café visit. The mill itself provides plenty of context for anyone interested in the area's history. Built for the von Hake family in 1867, it was used to grind sandstone slabs, some of which traveled as far as America. The building is made from sandstone quarried in the Vogler and forms part of a protected historic ensemble. It reopened as a cultural venue in 2008 after restoration. The rooms, including the café, can also be hired privately. Its position near the Weser cycle route and the Loccum–Volkenroda pilgrimage route makes it worth considering when planning a local outing with a café stop.

Kartoffelspeicher builds its menu around baked potatoes at An der Obertrave 6 in Lübeck. The restaurant is run by Jan Stobbe and Muhammad Fahad, and its cooking brings together German, European and international influences. Rather than treating the potato simply as a side dish, the menu gives it the central role and offers several distinct groups of preparations. Vegetarian baked potatoes form an especially broad section. Named choices include Toscana, Popeye, Aphrodite, La Patata, Ali Baba and Geisser Herdöpfel. The meat section takes a different direction with Tandoori Chicken, Obelix, Tropicana and Turkish Delight. Fish appears in another section, with Tonno and Surf'n Turf among the named options. The range allows diners to compare vegetable, meat and fish preparations within the restaurant's focused potato theme. Vegan and gluten free options are also part of the offer, alongside vegetarian dishes. The restaurant presents itself as a place for lunch, dinner or drinks, and describes a selection extending from starters through to dessert. Its international approach is reflected in the variety of dish names and the separate menu sections, giving the same main ingredient several different culinary directions. Tables are reserved by telephone, with the restaurant handling booking requests directly. This straightforward arrangement suits guests who want to contact the people at the venue before their visit. For a meal centred on baked potatoes, Kartoffelspeicher provides a clearly defined alternative to a broad, conventional restaurant menu, with plant based choices as well as meat and fish.

Rruga Naser Hasani, Prapashticë
Mon–Sun 08:00–00:00
Kasollet e Zanave brings a restaurant, village activities and accommodation together in the hills of Prapashticë. The project grew from conversations among friends during the pandemic, with the aim of giving families more time together outdoors. Its setting includes an animal garden, a playground and a village shop with traditional foods and crafts, so a meal can form part of a longer countryside visit. The restaurant combines Albanian building traditions with contemporary furnishings. Stone, wood and clay shape the facade, while woven branches around the counter recall old courtyard fences. A fireplace visible from all sides forms the centre of the dining room. There are tables indoors and on the terrace, with another outdoor area beneath plum trees called Hija e Kumbullave. Cooking draws on Albanian and international traditions, using produce from the village greenhouse and nearby farmers. Meat is prepared on an Argentine style grill. The drinks selection includes local and international wines, plum rakia made from fruit gathered in the village, and seasonal fruit juices. These give the restaurant a connection to the surrounding land beyond the view from the table. For families, the wider village offers opportunities to combine eating with play and learning about animals. Guests can contact the team to discuss a visit or a personalised event. The Prapashticë address is the destination to use when planning the journey from Prishtina.

Rruga Naser Hasani, 10000 Prapashticë, Prishtinë
Kasollet e Zanave is a tourist village in Prapashticë, up in the hills east of Prishtina at roughly 1,000 metres above sea level, and the restaurant sits at its centre. The idea for the village came out of a conversation among friends during the pandemic, and it has grown into a resort of wooden and stone huts, an animal garden, a riding centre and a village market spread over a hillside at the foot of a mountain. The restaurant building mixes traditional Albanian architecture with a modern interior. The facade combines stone, wood and clay, the wall around the bar is clad in woven branches like the old village fences, and a round open fireplace stands in the middle of the room. Indoors there is space for 120 guests, while the terrace and a shaded area under more than 400 plum trees, called Hija e Kumbullave, take several hundred more. A fire circle next to the restaurant is set up for an evening drink. Breakfast runs every morning, with a farmer's breakfast, a grandmother's breakfast, farm eggs, homemade sausage and fried dough. Later in the day the menu turns to rustic salads, a soup of the day, lamb head soup, cornbread and pogaçe from the oven, Elbasan style baked lamb, a Gjakova style casserole, and meat from an Argentine style grill, including suxhuk, meatballs, beef ribs, steaks and lamb chops. Children have their own short menu, and desserts include baklava and tespishte. Much of the produce comes from the house greenhouse, and the plum rakia and plum juice are made from fruit picked in the village. The wine list covers local and international bottles, and a few times a year guest chefs from abroad cook dishes from their own countries.

Kastro is on Ampelonon, the vineyard road that runs down from Pissouri village to the bay. The house keeps no website of its own beyond a Facebook page, so nothing is written here about the kitchen. What the hours show is a restaurant run the traditional way, in two sittings rather than straight through: midday to half past three, then a break, then six to nine in the evening. That is the Cypriot pattern and it means the afternoon is genuinely closed — arriving at half past four will find the door shut, which catches out visitors used to all-day service on the resort strips. It is closed on Thursday. Every other day of the week runs the same two sittings, including Sunday. The evening service ends at nine, which is early for the eastern Mediterranean and early for Cyprus in particular. A table at half past seven is a safer plan than one at half past eight. Pissouri is split between the old village on the Cape Aspro ridge and Pissouri Bay below, a crescent of sand and pebble under white cliffs that holds a Blue Flag for water quality. Ampelonon connects the two, so this address is on the way between them — walkable downhill from the village and a stiff climb back, which is why most people drive it. Parking on the road is free and easy outside July and August. You will find Kastro at Ampelonon 73, 4607 Pissouri.

Kaštil Slanica sits beside the Cetina River in a former salt-trading fort, a setting that connects the meal to the history of the Omiš hinterland. The Rogošić family opened the restaurant in 1998, drawing on family recipes and the ingredients of the coast, river and inland countryside. Its wine selection focuses on Dalmatian grape varieties. Soparnik is a particularly relevant place to begin: the thin Poljica pie contains chard and onion and is finished with olive oil and garlic. Homemade bread baked beneath hot coals accompanies several starters, including the house bruschetta and fish pâté. Grandma Višnja's pašticada, served with homemade gnocchi, continues the family-recipe theme. The river section of the menu offers trout, eel and frog legs, while the seafood dishes include black risotto, prawns with monkfish and fish baked with vegetables. There are also straightforward choices for younger diners, such as tomato pasta and breaded chicken. For a shared peka meal, choose among veal, lamb, octopus or chicken and order at least three hours ahead; the minimum is four portions. You can arrive by road, with free guest parking, or discuss a river arrival with the team. This makes Kaštil Slanica a useful destination for an outing into the canyon as well as a restaurant visit. Reserve directly and mention any advance-order dish when arranging the table. Rožata or cheesecake with caramelised figs can bring the meal to a distinctly Dalmatian finish.

Kossuth Lajos u. 70., 9737 Bük
Tue–Sun 11:00–22:00; Mon Closed
Kespub sits on Kossuth Lajos utca, the main street running through the centre of Bük, a short drive west of the spa quarter. It calls itself a restaurant and pizzeria with a distinctive, atmospheric interior, and it seats 110 guests indoors. From spring until autumn the garden is open as well, and the house suggests it for a cold drink in the sun. The menu, printed in Hungarian, English, German and Czech, mixes traditional dishes with local specialities and hearty home style Hungarian cooking. Soups include clear meat broth with fine noodles or homemade liver dumplings, garlic cream soup with cheese toast, beef goulash soup and a chilled raspberry cream soup with toasted pistachios. Main courses run from veal paprikash with egg dumplings and pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon with porcini cream sauce to barbecue pork ribs with coleslaw, a New Zealand tenderloin steak, salmon steak on saffron risotto and garlic shrimp spaghetti. Caesar salad comes with chicken, beef or shrimp, and there is fried Trappist cheese for those who skip meat. A sharing platter for two combines ribs, stuffed chicken breast, Sicilian chicken and tenderloin slices with rice, potatoes and grilled vegetables. Desserts include cheesecake with raspberry sauce, pistachio tiramisu and a chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream. The bar side matters too: Hungarian and foreign beers, a wide choice of Hungarian pálinka and cocktails. The pub shows football matches and hosts birthday and name day parties, hen and stag evenings and class reunions. Food can be packed to take away, and cards and the SZÉP card are accepted.
Hornbach · German home cooking · Cakes and pastries · Lunch
Im Klosterbezirk 1, 66500 Hornbach
Klosterschänke & Biergarten is the informal Palatinate tavern within Kloster Hornbach, a former Benedictine monastery now used as a hotel. The restaurant stands in the Klosterbezirk in Hornbach, with an indoor tavern room and a beer garden enclosed by old monastery walls. Its cooking centers on homemade classics and regional specialties, accompanied by monastery beer and wines from the Palatinate. The setting brings together hotel visitors, local neighbors and walkers, with outdoor tables in the warmer season and the tavern room providing an indoor setting in colder weather. The monastery complex has been run as a hotel by the Lösch family since 2000. Christiane and Edelbert Lösch now lead it together with their daughter Franziska. The former monastery retains its cloister and historic stonework, giving a meal here a setting closely connected with the town's past. The family's approach places shared meals and conversation at the center of the stay. The beer garden also serves Flammkuchen, the thin Alsatian style flatbread, while the tavern's offer includes a hearty Klosterbrett platter. This is the more relaxed dining option within a complex that also contains Refugium and the Säulenzimmer, each with its own character. Guests can request a table through the hotel's reservation service or contact the house by telephone. For arrival, the hotel's directions specify Im Klosterbezirk 1; guest parking areas are marked on its site plan.
Eberbach · Cakes and pastries · Cafe · Breakfast
Friedrichstraße 5-9, 69412 Eberbach
Café Viktoria is the old pastry house of Eberbach, on Friedrichstraße in the town centre, a short drive from Allemühl. It began in 1886, when the master baker Heinrich Strohauer opened a small bakery with a wine room. His son turned it into a café and wine tavern in 1923, the third generation took over as a master confectioner in 1954, and in 1958 the business moved into the building it still occupies. Since 2022 the Camaj family has run the house. The house speciality is the Viktoria von Eberbach torte: fine sponge with a soft cream filling and a note of orange. It goes back to 1962, when Heinrich Strohauer attended a banquet at the Swedish royal court and was taken with an orange dessert served there; a year later one of his tortes was sent by airmail to Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. Around Christmas the house is known for its Viktoria Christstollen, and both can be ordered through the online shop. The café has about a hundred seats inside, a garden café with around sixty more and a street café with about forty, the outdoor ones depending on the weather. Breakfast is served every day except Sunday until two in the afternoon, with bread rolls, a sweet pastry, homemade jams, honey, cold cuts and cheese. On Sundays and public holidays a breakfast buffet runs until one, adding fruit salad, yoghurt, muesli, herb quark, boiled and scrambled eggs, salmon and tomato with mozzarella. Tables can be reserved, and groups of more than ten are catered for by arrangement on the phone. The café is open daily without a closing day, which makes it an easy morning or afternoon stop on any day of a stay.

Stancija Rossello 36, 52466 Novigrad
Mon–Sat 12:00–21:00; Sun Closed
Konoba Anni is a family tavern at Stancija Rossello, on the approach to old Novigrad. Parts of the original stone walls remain inside, while the rest of the room has been given a more contemporary finish. Outside, kiwi vines form a canopy over the terrace, becoming thicker through summer and carrying fruit above the tables towards the end of August. The kitchen combines traditional Istrian cooking with burgers and a selection of seafood dishes. Its menu changes with the season while retaining house specialities. The pictured selection includes a double burger, a pulled pork burger, fried calamari, seafood paella and a shellfish pan. Octopus salad, bruschetta, chicken salad and the house spaghetti add further possibilities, alongside a tapas selection for a different style of meal. Bread, olives and homemade aioli arrive before the order, setting a simple, sociable beginning to the visit. Croatian white and red wines share the drinks selection with beer and classic cocktails. The setting also has a communal side: important football matches are shown with a projector on the terrace. Families, children and dogs are welcome. Vegetarian and gluten-free options can be discussed with the staff, as can other allergen questions. There is free parking directly opposite, Wi-Fi for guests and a choice of card or cash payment. Reservations are recommended during the busy season. Anni brings together a vine-covered terrace, a family kitchen and enough variety for diners to choose between regional cooking and a burger.
Murter · Fish and seafood · Seating indoors · Seating outdoors
Butina 22, 22243 Murter
Konoba Boba brings together the cooking of chef and owner Vjeko Bašić, his family and a garden setting in the heart of Murter. Boba is a family nickname, and the restaurant treats that name as a link to its island home. The surrounding sea, the Kornati islands and the people supplying the kitchen shape its approach to food. Seafood forms the center of a menu that follows the seasons and the different places where ingredients are harvested. Traditional island cooking provides the foundation, while contemporary ideas influence how those ingredients are prepared and presented. This is a restaurant to approach through its current selection rather than a single dish expected to remain permanently on the menu. The garden is an important part of the experience. Rosemary, basil, oregano, mint and marjoram grow alongside vegetables and fruit trees, including fig, olive, citrus and mulberry. A stone courtyard wall encloses the outdoor dining space, which accommodates eighty guests, while the interior has fifty seats. Part of the kitchen is open to view, allowing diners to watch some of the preparation. A wine selection completes the meal, and the setting accommodates both smaller tables and gatherings of friends. The contrast between the enclosed garden and the visible kitchen gives guests two different connections to the food: the plants around the table and the work behind each plate. Reservations are available by phone or through the restaurant's booking link. Parking is identified beside the restaurant and at the local marina.

Vangrada 20, 23250 Pag
Konoba Bodulo is a Croatian and Mediterranean restaurant on Vangrada in Pag. Its cooking is presented around regional dishes and local food, with fresh bread and drinks accompanying a sit-down meal. The setting gives visitors a choice between a terrace in warm weather and an air-conditioned room indoors. That combination makes it a useful address for a meal in town whether you want to sit outside or take a break from the heat. Lunch and dinner are both part of the restaurant's offer. Tables can be requested directly by telephone or through an online reservation service, so guests can arrange their visit before setting out. The restaurant also prepares food to take away, allowing visitors staying in a holiday home to eat there instead of remaining at a table. Free parking is offered for customers arriving by car, and free wireless internet is available during a visit. Bodulo also takes part in the town's wider food culture. It appeared among the participating restaurants in the 2025 Pag na meniju programme, which brought island specialities and Dalmatian singing into local dining rooms. The programme connected restaurants, a wine and cheese bar, local producers and the town's hospitality school through a celebration of Pag's food traditions. For someone exploring the island through its restaurants, Bodulo offers a town address with a distinctly regional starting point.

Mon–Sun 13:00–23:00
Konoba Didova kuća occupies a family house in Šimuni, where the terrace remains at the centre of the restaurant's identity. The cooking follows recipes handed down from the island, the Croatian coast and Dalmatia. Fish, skuta curd cheese and prošek are singled out as three ingredients that express the kitchen's character. Homemade pasta, mussels, olive oil, almonds, walnuts, fennel and marinated produce also belong to its food vocabulary. Bread made with olive oil and a selection of bottled wines complete that picture. The building's earlier life was closely tied to food: the family stored wine, hung cured ham, kept Pag cheeses and dried fish here. Today, that history gives the meal a personal setting rather than an anonymous dining room. Lace made by the family's grandmother Mara is displayed inside, linking another island tradition to the table. Guests can reserve by telephone, email or an online booking service, and card payment is accepted. Šimuni itself is a fishing village on Pag's southwestern coast, between Pag town and Novalja. Its cove contains an ACI marina, while nearby beaches offer places for swimming and walking. Fishing boats returning to shore remain part of the village's daily character. A visit to Didova kuća can therefore sit naturally within an outing that combines the harbour, the beach and a meal rooted in the island's household cooking.

Riva žrtava Dvainke 16, 22202 Primošten
Konoba Dionis is a family-run restaurant on the Primošten waterfront, at Riva žrtava Dvainke 16. Dalmatian dishes and pizza share the menu, with terrace tables looking towards the boats. It is an option for a meal during a visit to Primošten, with enough variety for a family or group whose members want different things. The house specialities include pašticada with potato gnocchi and fish gregada. The former pairs beef with sauce, while the latter brings fish together with potatoes, garlic, olive oil and white wine. These dishes provide a regional starting point before considering the wider selection available on the day. Pizza has its own particular preparation here: the dough rests for forty-eight hours and is stretched by hand. Margherita and Capricciosa appear alongside Pizza Dionis, which combines tomato, cheese, pršut, sour cream and olives. For children, the restaurant offers smaller portions of selected dishes and simple choices such as breaded chicken pieces with fries or spaghetti bolognese. Ask which dishes can be adapted to a smaller portion. The wine selection includes Babić from the Primošten area, Debit from the Šibenik region and Graševina from Slavonia. Pets are welcome. The restaurant publishes seasonal hours, so confirm opening when visiting outside the main holiday period. Telephone and WhatsApp enquiries go directly to the family team; a table is confirmed after they reply. Mention the date, number of guests and any particular dish you hope to try.

Obala kralja Tomislava 21, 21217 Kaštel Novi
Mon Closed; Tue–Sat 17:00–23:00; Sun 13:00–17:00
Konoba Dominik is a Croatian tavern on Obala kralja Tomislava in Kaštel Novi, run by hosts Dominik and Nina. Its character comes from a historic interior arranged with attention to the building's older atmosphere, together with a terrace on the first floor. The cooking follows the same balance: familiar regional dishes remain at the centre, with modern touches in their preparation and presentation. Ingredients are obtained mainly from local farmers, fishermen and regional suppliers. The kitchen keeps its selection focused on homemade specialties rather than an extensive catalogue of dishes. Starters include Dalmatian cured ham, cheeses from the island of Pag and octopus salad, alongside other salads. For a main course, the choices described by the house include marinated beef steak and roasted pork ribs. Fish comes from the fish market in Kaštela, connecting the seafood selection to the local catch. One of the tavern's particular specialties is meat or seafood prepared in the traditional peka style. These dishes cook slowly in the house's large wood oven and can be arranged by ordering ahead. They also appear as part of the restaurant's special food events. Local wines and beers accompany the cooking, with international wines and selected beers available as well. The selection can change with the season, when the kitchen may offer a smaller menu or dishes of the day. Guests who want a table on the upstairs terrace are asked to reserve by telephone in advance. The combination of a small menu, regional ingredients and a carefully preserved setting gives the tavern a clear focus on Croatian cooking.

Zidine 10, 52466 Novigrad
Mon 18:00–22:00; Tue–Sun 12:00–22:00
Konoba Gatto Nero is tucked into Zidine, a small street close to the sea in Novigrad. Its kitchen combines seafood, meat and homemade pasta, using carefully selected local ingredients, many from organic cultivation. The range makes it possible to approach the meal through several different parts of Istrian cooking, from shellfish to truffles. Seafood preparations draw on Kvarner scampi, squid and octopus, alongside scallops, other local shellfish and John Dory. These ingredients give the coastal side of the menu its character. The meat selection includes beef steak, cheeks and goulash, offering a different direction for guests who prefer a meal from the land. Homemade ravioli, tagliatelle and gnocchi sit between these two strands of the kitchen. Fritaja, the regional egg dish, is prepared with fresh black or white truffles, bringing another recognisable Istrian ingredient to the table. The restaurant also gives attention to vegetarian and vegan diners and to people who need to discuss gluten or other allergens. Guests with particular dietary requirements can raise them with the team when arranging their visit. Outdoor seating adds an alternative to the dining space, and the restaurant welcomes pets. Wi-Fi is available, and payment can be made in cash or with the listed bank cards. Reservations are offered directly by the restaurant. With its combination of seafood, pasta and meat dishes, Gatto Nero gives a mixed group several ways to build a meal around local ingredients without all choosing the same style of food.

Konoba Griblja occupies a traditional stone building on Trg Ruševac in Sukošan, close to the waterfront. The interior draws on Dalmatian household objects and handwork, while a fireplace and a summer terrace give the restaurant different settings through the seasons. The kitchen, associated with chef Braco Sanjin, brings a contemporary approach to regional ingredients and recipes. The menu gives seafood several distinct roles. A meal can begin with marinated Adriatic sardines, scampi pâté or tuna tartare. One especially characteristic dish is cuttlefish trisotto, combining barley, wheat and rice. Homemade tagliatelle with scampi, dried tomato and pistachio offers another route, while the fish section includes grilled squid, tuna steak and shellfish preparations. For a shared main course, ask about gregada, the fish stew offered for two. There are also meat dishes, including lamb chops and beef steak served with a varenik-based sauce, almond purée and grilled courgette. Dessert continues the regional thread with Dalmatian rožata; a dark-chocolate mousse with olive oil and sea salt provides a different finish. These dishes help you choose the style of meal before discussing current availability with the team. Griblja's wine selection reaches across Croatian regions. A separate small room is available for private dining, making advance contact useful for a family gathering or a more intimate group meal. When booking, confirm service times and whether you would prefer the terrace, main dining space or private room.

Obala kralja Tomislava 19b, 21216 Kaštel Novi
Mon–Thu 10:00–23:00; Fri–Sun 10:00–24:00
Konoba Intrada brings seafood, pizza and traditional Dalmatian cooking together on Obala kralja Tomislava in Kaštel Novi. Its name refers to the produce of the surrounding fields, and the kitchen connects Adriatic fish with local wine, olive oil and vegetables from Kaštela family farms. The waterfront setting makes it a natural place to combine a meal with time along the coast. The menu offers several ways into that regional cooking. Begin with octopus salad, Dalmatian prosciutto or local cheese, then choose black risotto, seafood spaghetti or the house pasta with salmon and prawns. Grilled sea bass and sea bream sit alongside squid and shellfish. For two diners who want to share, the Intrada fish platter brings together several fish and seafood preparations on one order. Pizza is also a substantial part of the choice, with small, large and jumbo formats. Toppings range from the straightforward tomato, cheese and oregano combination to anchovies, mixed vegetables and the house salmon-and-prawn version. This breadth is useful when one person wants fish and another prefers pizza or a familiar pasta dish. For a more deliberate group meal, ask in advance about peka: the menu lists veal, lamb, octopus and stuffed squid cooked beneath the covered baking bell, in portions for four. Reservations can be arranged directly by phone. Published opening hours extend later from Friday to Sunday, making it worth confirming your preferred dining time when booking.

Veliki Guber 1, 80101 Livno
Mon–Sun 09:00–22:00
Konoba Ivina Arka is a country tavern in Veliki Guber, on the western edge of the Livno field, about three kilometres from the town centre. It opens every day of the week from the morning until late evening, which makes it one of the easier places to plan around when arriving or leaving. The kitchen is rooted in the grill. The house platter brings together ćevapi, a pljeskavica, a chop, a chicken skewer, sausage and liver, and the grill section also lists veal and pork cutlets, mixed veal skewers, chicken wrapped in pancetta, a stuffed pljeskavica and one cooked in kajmak, the rich local clotted cream. Beyond the grill there are breaded and sauced cutlets, including a Livno style schnitzel, medallions, pork tenderloin stuffed with ham and cheese, and chicken in gorgonzola sauce. Traditional dishes include bean stew with sausage, fried dough balls with kajmak and veal cooked under the sač, the iron bell covered with embers, which is made to order. For fish there is grilled trout and grilled squid. A section of pizzas includes the house pizza with kulen, the spicy Slavonian sausage, and a vegetarian pizza with seasonal vegetables, alongside pasta, risotto, green noodles with seafood or gorgonzola, and a run of omelettes for the morning. The tavern also hosts events of its own; it has organised a Livno sausage contest, the Livanjska kobasijada, where anyone could bring sausages to be judged by a panel and the evening ends with dinner, a tasting of sausage and cheese and live tamburica music. Tables can be requested through the booking form on the website or by phone.

Trg Rudina 4, 22243 Murter
Mon–Sun 11:00–00:00
Konoba Jadran stands on Trg Rudina in central Murter, in an old stone house built in the Dalmatian tradition. Its terrace looks toward the main square, the harbor and the sea, placing the restaurant within the everyday life of the waterfront. The family tradition dates to 1919, while the kitchen combines recipes associated with Murter island with a contemporary approach. Fish and seafood are central to the offer. Tuna, octopus and shellfish appear alongside other fish specialties, with grilled dishes providing another strand of the cooking. There are meat dishes too, as well as pasta preparations and Dalmatian desserts. The range allows a table to explore several parts of the island's cooking rather than follow a single specialty. Both prepared dishes and dishes made to order form part of the service. Seating is divided between the terrace and the enclosed part of the tavern, with a combined capacity of one hundred guests. That arrangement also supports occasions beyond a regular restaurant meal: the team organizes family celebrations and business receptions. Guests staying at Camp Rehut can arrange a table through the camp reception. Practical facilities include parking, takeaway service and free wireless internet. Dogs are welcome, and card payments are accepted, including Visa and Mastercard. For visitors exploring central Murter, Jadran brings together an established stone house, a view across the waterfront and a broad introduction to the island's food traditions.

Rovinjska Ulica 10, 52210 Rovinjsko Selo
Konoba Klepa brings Macedonian cooking and a Leskovac style charcoal grill to Rovinjsko Selo. Its address on Rovinjska Ulica puts it west of the supplied Kanfanar home centre, about four kilometres away in a straight line. The village setting offers an alternative direction for a meal when planning an outing from the accommodation. Meat from the charcoal grill forms one part of the menu, with ćevapi, pljeskavica, ribs and steaks. Alongside these are Macedonian dishes including tavče gravče, with beans, and accompaniments such as ajvar, makalo and šopska salad. Several vegetable preparations are explicitly marked vegan or vegetarian, so the choice extends beyond grilled meat. The drinks selection continues the Macedonian connection through Tikveš wines, Skopsko beer and rakija. Pancakes and syrup soaked semolina cake appear among the desserts. Guests can reserve a table by telephone, and the restaurant also hosts birthdays, christenings and private celebrations. Parking is available for guests, with cards and cash accepted. Rovinjsko Selo belongs to the Rovinj area and lies near Žuntići; Romualdo Cave is northeast of the village restaurant. For visitors staying around the supplied home point, this makes Klepa a nearby option to consider when combining a village stop with exploring the surrounding countryside. The combination of grilled dishes, bean dishes, dips and salads allows a table to choose several different elements of the meal rather than follow a single set menu.

Rudina 10, 23206 Sukošan
Konoba Kod Guste is a Dalmatian restaurant on Rudina in the centre of Sukošan. Fish, shellfish, risotto and homemade pasta form a substantial part of its menu, with grilled meats alongside them. It is a useful address for exploring several familiar coastal preparations in one meal, whether the table wants seafood throughout or a mixture of fish and meat. The cold starters set out that regional approach clearly: octopus salad, salted sardines and marinated anchovies appear beside Dalmatian prosciutto and Pag cheese. In the pasta section, look for homemade makaruni with scampi or green noodles with monkfish. Risotto choices include scampi, seafood and black risotto, so the first course can be as important as the main dish. The seafood menu ranges from mussels and grilled or fried squid to sea-bass fillet and tuna steak. Scampi are offered grilled or prepared buzara-style. Meat choices include beef steak, T-bone steak, veal and pork chops, and grilled turkey. Swiss chard, boiled potatoes and grilled vegetables appear among the sides, allowing diners to build a meal around the preparation they prefer. For dessert, the menu lists rožata, panna cotta, pancakes and cake. Kod Guste also operates rooms, but restaurant enquiries go directly to the business at Rudina 10. Contact the team to check the day's fish, current service hours and table availability. If you are planning a meal around a particular homemade pasta or seafood dish, mention it when booking so the kitchen can confirm what is available.
Žminj · Steak and grill · Lunch · Dinner
Krculi 5, 52341 Žminj
Konoba Krculi is a country restaurant in the village of Krculi near Žminj, with a history that the family traces to 1969. Its beginnings were tied to selling produce grown in the family's fields to people in coastal towns. Those contacts brought visitors inland to eat and spend time in the village. The original small tavern had a fireplace; the business later developed into a much larger venue while keeping traditional Istrian food and folklore at the centre of its identity. Today it can accommodate up to three hundred people and organises weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and other celebrations. Lunches and dinners for groups are arranged in advance. The menu follows old recipes from central Istria. Prosciutto and sheep's or cow's cheese introduce a selection that includes Istrian minestrone with corn, potatoes and beans. Pasta takes several forms: potato gnocchi with veal or venison sauce, fuži with chicken goulash, and makaruni with prosciutto and mushrooms. Cooked cabbage, beef medallions in mushroom sauce and roast veal, pork or lamb provide other choices. Grilled sausages and beef are also offered. Fritule, the small sweet fried dough pieces, appear among the house specialties. Drinks include wine and traditional brandies, with plain grappa, mistletoe brandy and a honey version mentioned as welcomes. Music and folklore are part of the restaurant's account of its hospitality. Guest parking is available, and the contact details allow visitors to discuss their group's meal and occasion with the restaurant beforehand.
