Sagrado Cafe

Sagrado is a cafe on Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami that calls itself a lifestyle cafe and means it as an instruction: the room is built for staying rather than for turning tables. Breakfast, coffee, brunch, happy hour and desserts are served all day.

The kitchen leans Brazilian, which shows most clearly in two of its signatures. The Brigadeiro Collection is built around the Brazilian chocolate confection, and the Picanha Plate takes the cut of beef that is the centre of a Brazilian churrasco. Alongside those the bakery works from scratch every morning, and the coffee is single origin, pulled by the house baristas.

The cafe opens every day from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with seating outdoors. Breakfast runs into brunch and brunch into an afternoon, so there is no narrow window to hit.

Number 900 Biscayne Boulevard sits in Park West, at the northern edge of downtown Miami, a few minutes on foot from the Kaseya Center and from Museum Park with the Perez Art Museum and the Frost Museum of Science. If you are staying downtown without a car, this is one of the places you can reach without planning a journey around it.

The Metromover runs through this part of downtown and is free, which makes the cafe an easy stop from most of the central hotels and apartments even without walking the whole way. Seating outdoors on Biscayne Boulevard is the pick in winter; in the middle of a Miami summer afternoon the inside is the wiser choice.
