Rates checked in September 2026. Under its single-fee structure, Airbnb charges most hosts 15.5%; Airbnb says other hosts typically pay between 14% and 16%. Exceptions depend on country and account type. Booking.com sets the commission rate in each accommodation agreement, and visibility programmes may increase it. This worked example uses a possible range of 15% to 25%. If Booking.com facilitates payment, the applicable payment terms and transaction cost are contract-specific. Our 3.9% cost contribution is included in the displayed total and contributes towards Stripe payment fees and refunds. BookNoFees earns nothing from it. Nothing is added at checkout and nothing is deducted from the owner. Fee models can change, so please check each platform’s current terms. About Sorpesee

Staying at the Sorpesee

The Sorpesee lies in the Hochsauerlandkreis, south of Arnsberg, and belongs to the town of Sundern. The reservoir stretches for roughly eight kilometres through a wooded valley, with the village of Langscheid by the dam at one end and Amecke at the other. In summer the lake is busy with sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, rowing, canoeing, diving and pedal boats, and a lido has a designated area for swimming. The passenger boat MS Sorpesee crosses between its landing stages in the season, which is the easiest way to see the whole lake in an afternoon. Paths run along the shore, and marked trails climb into the hills for hiking, road cycling and mountain biking; in winter the Wildewiese slopes nearby are open for skiing. The holiday homes on this page lie close to the lake, in Langscheid, Amecke and the hills between them, so the water is a short walk or drive away. A car makes it easier to reach the villages, trailheads and towns such as Sundern and Arnsberg.

Good to know

Holiday homes at the Sorpesee: FAQ

Can you swim in the Sorpesee?

Yes, at the lido, which has a designated swimming area in the warm season. Outside it the lake is shared with boats and watersports, so swim where swimming is marked.

What is there to do on the lake?

Sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, rowing, canoeing, diving and pedal boats in summer, a passenger boat (MS Sorpesee) between the landing stages, and paths along the shore all year.

Where are the holiday homes near the Sorpesee?

In and around the lakeside villages of Langscheid and Amecke and in the hills between them, all part of the town of Sundern. Homes in the centre of Sundern itself are listed on the Sundern page.

When is the best time to visit?

Late spring to early autumn for swimming, boat trips and watersports. Spring and autumn are quieter and good for walking; in winter the nearby Wildewiese slopes are open for skiing when there is snow.

Do I need a car?

It helps. The villages, trailheads and nearby towns are spread out, and public transport is limited in the evenings and at weekends.
