Steak House by Michael

Steak House by Michael is in Pissouri village, up the hill from the bay, and since it opened in June 2017 it has been the place people drive to for a proper steak: prime cuts including USDA beef, cooked to order on the grill with a choice of sauces, and a wine list that goes well beyond the usual village selection. There is seafood, pasta and a few vegetarian plates for those who do not want meat, and the vegetables and herbs come from the family's own garden.

Michael runs the room himself and the kitchen is in the hands of a trained chef; the place was renovated recently and is a step up from the tavernas without being stiff. The outside bar opens at lunchtime for a drink or a lighter plate; dinner is in the evening, Monday to Saturday. Booking is wise at the weekend.
